Menopause marks a powerful rite of passage - a natural order of life to serve and manifest what you're called to do. By weaving in the ancient wisdom of TCM & Qi Gong, women can reconnect with their inner rhythm, ease the turbulence of symptoms, and restore balance from the inside out. This gentle yet powerful practice harmonizes energy flow, supports emotional stability, and nourishes vital organs affected by hormonal changes.
This workshop is designed to support women navigating the natural transitions of perimenopause and menopause. Through the healing movements of Qi Gong, we’ll focus on cultivating internal balance, calming the nervous system, and supporting hormonal health.
You’ll learn:
Qi Gong forms that target key systems affected by hormonal shifts
Breathwork to reduce anxiety, fatigue, and mood swings
Gentle movement to improve circulation, sleep, and energy flow
Practices to reconnect with your body’s wisdom during this stage of life
Whether you're just beginning perimenopause or well into your menopausal journey, this workshop offers accessible tools to support you physically, emotionally, and energetically.

Breathing with the Body: An Ānāpānasati-Inspired Workshop - Ottawa
Return to the body. Breathe with awareness. Move with kindness.

Location: Church of the Ascension, 253 Echo Dr, Ottawa, Ontario
Investment: $175

The Awakened One offered us the Ānāpānasati Sutta - sixteen pathways of mindful breathing to cultivate presence, ease, and ultimately, liberation. The first four exercises begin with the contemplation of the body (kāya) - an invitation to return home to this living, breathing form with gentleness and care. What if this was our doorway to peace? To befriend the body, soothe its tensions, and listen deeply, as if the body itself were a sacred text.
We’ll begin our day with gentle movement through Qi Gong and Tai Chi, embodying mindfulness in motion. These practices awaken the breath and invite joy and spaciousness back into the body - often where tension, fatigue, or subtle holding patterns have quietly taken root. Let’s be honest: mindfulness is easier when our neck or lower back isn’t speaking so loudly.
From there, we’ll explore the body as a continuous structure, field of energy and awareness, bridging ancient insights of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and modern Western science, helping us expand our understanding - not just of how the body functions, but how it heals and holds wisdom.
Our time together includes fascia release techniques, TCM-based approaches, and daily rituals you can carry with you to restore flow, enhance mobility, and support embodied mindfulness in everyday life. Come with a beginner’s mind, a willingness to move gently, and perhaps a quiet curiosity about what the body might reveal when we truly listen.
All are welcome - no experience needed, just a breath and an open heart.
What to bring:1. An open mind and a loving heart for yourself.
2. Water bottle, nut-free snacks, and lunch.
3. Notebook and something to write with - you’ll want to record these gems. Hang will provide a handout.
4. Indoors sneakers/runners and outdoors sneakers - no outside shoes in the church please. We will be practicing barefoot on our mat and wearing indoor sneakers.
5. Yoga mat and something you often use to sit on the floor. There will be chairs available.
6. An old long tube socks that go up to mid-shin.
Fascia Release Workshop

Feeling stiff from long hours at a desk (or just life)?
Tight muscles that bounce back no matter how much you stretch or roll?
Join Hang for a dynamic 2-hour workshop that goes beyond stretching. You’ll learn how fascia — the body’s connective tissue web — affects both movement and mind. Think nagging headaches, neck and shoulder tension, or that feeling of being stuck in your own skin.
You’ll discover gentle, effective techniques to release fascia daily, helping you build strength, flexibility, freedom, and ease. Hang will also show you how these release points connect to acupressure and emotional balance through the lens of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).What’s Fascia, Anyway?
Fascia is the body’s hidden network — a stretchy web that wraps around your muscles, bones, nerves, and organs. Stress, injuries, poor posture, and even everyday tension can cause it to tighten, leaving you stiff, fatigued, and foggy. Keeping fascia healthy keeps your whole system flowing and vibrant.
How Does Acupressure Fit In?
We’ll use a release ball (instead of just fingers) on key acupressure points to ease tension, balance energy (Qi), and boost vitality — blending modern movement science with ancient wisdom.
What to Bring
Yoga mat
A long sock 2-3 inches above ankle bone (it’ll make sense, promise)
Notebook + pen (you’ll want these gems!)
Water bottle
Come curious and leave feeling lighter, freer, and more connected. If you’ve joined this workshop before, come back for a refresher — and to learn new insights and techniques Hang has discovered/researched along the way. A fascia release ball is also included in your fee.
